The American Nuclear Society of Chattanooga State Community College is excited to introduce our website. This site is intended for prospective students and members to remain apprised of various developments in the nuclear industry. Chattanooga State Community College Engineering Students earn their degrees while focusing on Nuclear Power Engineering Technology or Radiation Protection. Nuclear Power Engineering Technology
Besides the technical skills required to safely operate equipment, follow procedures and recognize problems, graduates need good communications skills to work in nuclear power plant operations. Positions like non-licensed operator technician, national research lab technician, nuclear power industry technician and operations technician are some of the career opportunities available upon the successful completion of the program.
Radiation Protection
Not only does the Radiation Protection concentration offer students a unique opportunity to obtain high-tech and cutting-edge training in handling radioactive substances used in various industries like medial treatment and research, hazardous waste removal, and the nuclear power industry, a broad education in engineering technology fundamentals is included.
